mele kaliki maka

Mele Kaliki Maka is what the Obama’s are saying this Christmas (photo). President Obama and his family left for Hawaii Thursday to spend 10 days on a family vacation. According to the White House website, there isn’t much on the calendar for the next ten days.

President Obama, Michelle Obama and daughters, Malia, 11, and Sasha, eight took off on Air Force One Christmas Eve, after the Senate health care reform vote was in.

Before he left, Obama delivered holiday messages to the US military, and wished troops a merry Christmas and thanked them for their service.

Mele Kaliki Maka means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian, and it is one of the most famous Christmas songs that Bing Crosby sang.
